Got Some Things Done

I managed to get a few things done this past weekend.    On Saturday I drove to the training hall in Burlington to drop off a dog who was going home after a 6wk stay with me.   I took Paige and Maisie with me and while there I video taped two exercises for the online Deaf Dog Training program I’m creating,  and made a couple of  “commercials” for my upcoming classes at ODS.   That same day I went to the laundromat, and while the laundry was doing, I went to Walmart,  and Sobeys.    Then back to the hall to pick up the girls …. I’d left them there as it was too hot for them to sit in the car while I did errands ….  and then drove home.   So quite a busy day.   Once home I posted my ‘ads’ on the ODS facebook page.    On Sunday I again drove to the training hall in Burlington,  this time to pick up a load of dog food.   From there I continued to Toronto to take a little dog home who’d been staying with me for a week.   I had Maisie with me and thought I might take the opportunity to video tape a couple more deaf dog exercises but I found I was just too exhausted to do much more than just drive.   All I wanted to do was get home and sleep.   I can’t remember what I did yesterday.  Today it’s just been everyday chores.   Let dogs out.  Clean dogs kennels.  Let Petunia out  (pig).  Clean Petunia's kennel.  Feed dogs. Feed Petunia.  Feed cats and clean litterboxes.   Feed & clean Ziggy the Guinea Pig.  Feed donkey’s, pony,  sheep,  llama.  Muck out a portion of the barn.    This is the stuff that I have to do daily no matter how bad I feel.   The stuff that doesn’t bring any income but still takes the time of a full time job.   The stuff that some days takes three times as long as it should because I’m so unmotivated and can barely get through the day.    Today is a so/so day.   It’s 7pm and I’m not done yet .  I’ve been moving slowly and taking breaks trying to pace myself.

Emotions wise I’ve been in a bit better spirits.   The waves of sadness washing over me less often and with a little less intensity.

Oh,  I almost forgot ….. I saw a casting call looking for a hound with scent detection skills.   I decided to submit Gunner.   I sent photos of him doing scenting in our shows and also two videos of him in action.   One video from a show we did in Toronto a year ago, and one of some ‘real life’ searches we did in a pet food store.   Last night I had a dream that he got the job.    We’ll see.
